Superstar

As this week is our last superstar this year I have decided to make the entire class superstars! I have had a wonderful year with them and it has been a pleasure to teach every single one of them. Each child has made progress in leaps and bounds since September and I am incredibly proud of all of them. Well done to RM, a class of superstars!

Teddy Bears' Picnic

Yesterday was our teddy bears' picnic and what wonderful weather we had for it! Before we set off all of the children introduced their bear to the rest of the class.

Then we all put a carton of milk and an apple in our bags, put more sun cream on and got ready to set off.

We walked all the way down to the other end of the school and on our way we spotted lots of bears hiding! When we got to the bottom on the field we all sat down and had our milk and fruit. Then we played a game! We played 'teddy bear, teddy bear, real bear!' which was a bit like 'duck, duck, goose!'.

We all set off waking again and made our way to the junior quad where we sat underneath the big tree and had some stories.

Then it was lunch time!

We all enjoyed our picnic in the woods and so did our teddy bears. Next we had to find the naughty teddy that had hidden somewhere! He was in a really good hiding place but we managed to find him eventually.

After that the children worked with a friend to find 24 bear book covers that were hidden all around. It was tricky work but lots of fun!

After that we took our teddy bears to the running track and had some teddy bear races! In the first race we had to keep our teddy bears on our shoulders and run to the other side with them.

In the second race we had to hold our teddy bears inbetween our legs and try to get to the other side without dropping them!

Then it was time to go home. We hope that you and your teddy bear had a wonderful day.

Superstars

Well done to last week's superstar who was chosen for always trying her best with all of her work!

And well done to this week's superstar who was chosen for doing the right thing every single day.

Tomorrow's Teddy Bears' Picnic

As I'm sure you all know, tomorrow we are going to have a Teddy Bears' Picnic. Don't forget to send your child in with their teddy bear in a backpack or bag.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is hot and sunny all day (summer is here!). Please remember to send your child in with a sun hat and to cover them in sun cream before they come to school. We will be outside for a large portion of the day on our picnic!

Sports Day

Well done to every single one of the children for having a fabulous Sports Day this morning. They were all fantastic and tried their best in all of the races. Thank you to all of the parents who came to cheer the children on. I didn't manage to get any photographs but I'm sure you got lots of your own!

1930s Day

Well done everybody for dressing up today. You all looked fantastic! Thank you to all of the adults at home who helped to put the costumes together. We had a very fun afternoon watching each year group's performance and doing our performance for the rest of the school.

Butterflies

This week our butterflies started emerging from their cocoons. We are still waiting for 2 to come out but we decided to let the others go free today. We all went into the quad and very carefully helped the butterflies out of the net. We had to be very gentle as they are so delicate. We waved goodbye to them and watched them fly away.

PE and earrings

As sports day is getting closer we will be practising our races. As it depends on the weather we might not always do PE on a Monday for the next few weeks. Please make sure your child does not have earrings in for school as they will not be able to do PE if they do. If you were thinking about getting your child's ears pierced, please wait until the summer holidays to do this as they will not be able to take part in sports day or PE if they can't remove their earrings. Thank you.

Superstar

Well done to this week's superstar who has had a lovely first week with us is RM.
