PE

The children are doing fantastic in PE! We now have tables, benches and mats out for them to use. They travel up the bench and jump off the table onto the mat. Some of the tables are quite high and if they aren't confident jumping off then they climb down carefully instead. All children have tried very hard and worked so well this morning! Well done RM!

Winter is coming...

This week the weather has been much colder and the children are getting excited about winter! We have had a few wintery activities for the children to do. They have been playing in the snow looking for snowflakes and ice, they've been in the water looking for ice cubes, they've been using beads to make snowflakes with the pipe cleaners and they've used the construction resources to make snowflakes too! We've also talked about the nativity story and the children have been acting it out with the small world toys. We have had 2 very special visitors to RM this week...Paige's little sister, Skye-Rose and my niece Matilda. The children loved seeing two real babies!

Nativity

Some children have got some words to learn for our Nativity performance. If your child has brought some words home please help them to learn them by heart and say them in a loud, clear voice. Thank you.

Babies

This week we are thinking all about babies. We've talked about how babies are different from the children. What can the children do now that they couldn't do when they were babies? What do babies need help with? Some children have shared some lovely stories about their baby brothers or sisters. Today we read a bible story about baby Moses and we talked about how there is another story in the bible about a baby. The children thought that it might be a story about the baby Jesus and we will find out a little more about that story another time.

Here are some pictures of the children looking after our babies in the home corner. They've been feeding them, dressing them, changing their nappies, rocking them to sleep, telling them stories and much more!

Stickers

Every now and again your child might come home with a sticker on them. This sticker might have a sound, a number or a word on it. Please help your child to learn these things at home. Thank you.

Teeth cleaning

Today the school nurse came in to school to talk to the children about keeping their teeth clean. She brought Tiddles the dog who helped to show them what to do and they all got to take home a new toothbrush and some toothpaste.

Your child has brought home a book today as a gift. We hope you enjoy reading the story with your child. Please keep this book at home, it doesn't need to be sent back to school.

Don't forget that tomorrow is non uniform day for children in need and you may send a donation in with your child if you wish.

A very busy day!

Today has been such a busy day. As today is Remembrance Day we had a talk about why it is such an important day and why people wear poppies. We looked at some pictures of the poppy fields and had a go at painting our own poppies. At 10.55 we all went to the infant hall for a special Remembrance assembly with the rest of the infants and Mrs Murphy. At 11.00 we had 2 minutes of silence.

This afternoon Susie and Jeanette from Sainsburys came to help us plant some trees in our school grounds. Sainsburys are now in partnership with Woodland Trust UK so it was a fabulous opportunity for us. We had to put our waterproof pants and wellies on as the grass was very soggy from all of the rain. We all had a wonderful time but it was hard work! When we came back inside Susie and Jeanette brought us some juice and biscuits.

Tomorrow afternoon the school nurse is coming to talk to us about looking after our teeth. If you would like to join us please come to the classroom door at 2.50. Thank you.

A rainy day.

Even though it rained all day yesterday the children had a wonderful time. Some of them were excited to go outside so they put on their waterproof pants, waterproof coats and their wellies and out they went! It was very fun to jump in the puddles and make big splashes. The trim trail had flooded and looked like a pond and the children thought that maybe a crocodile was living in there! Here are a few pictures from their fun in the rain.

Halloween activities

We have had a wonderful week full of Halloween activities! The children have been in our spooky house, made pumpkin and ghost pictures with the chalk and paint, dressed up in different costumes, made patterns in the glitter using paintbrushes and much much more. We have also had a look at different fireworks and talked about staying safe on bonfire night. I've heard lots about the firework displays and bonfires that the children have been to see this week, it sounds like it was very exciting!

Have a lovely weekend.
