A chick update

We now have two chicks! The children have been very good at looking after them, making sure they are safe and warm in the pen and always have enough food and water. Everybody has had a turn at holding one of the chicks. We had to be very careful and gentle with them. 

A special arrival

Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. 

Today, we had a very special arrival in RM. Our first chick has hatched! We are keeping a very close eye on all of our eggs and we might have some more chicks soon. It's very "eggciting"! 

Tadpoles

Yesterday Mrs Bateson was very kind and brought us some frogspawn from her pond. Today when we looked in the tank we had some tadpoles! They are growing very quickly so we will have to keep a close eye on them! 

Handa's Surprise

This morning we had a special visitor in our class from Tesco. This week we are thinking all about fruit. We read the story of Handa's Surprise, all about a little girl who lives in Kenya. She takes some fruit to her friend in another village, but on the way lots of different animals take the fruit out of her basket! 

Our visitor brought us all of the different fruits from the story so that we could try them. Some of them were a bit strange and we had never tasted them before. It was very exciting! 

After we had tasted each fruit we all chose our favourite. There was a clear winner!

Superstar

Well done to our superstar this week who was chosen for concentrating and trying very hard whilst doing his work. 

Gingerbread men

This week we have been thinking all about the story of The Gingerbread Man. We have read a few different versions of the story and even had a go at writing our own. Today we made our very own gingerbread men and one even ran away! They were very yummy!
