Spooky Fun

As it is the week before Halloween and we aren't at school during Halloween week we have decided to have some spooky fun in the classroom this week. The children have loved it! Here are some of the things that the children have enjoyed doing.

The children loved making potions in the witch's cauldron! It was slimy and sticky and there were all sorts of creepy things hidden in the goo!
They have also enjoyed making some fabulous spooky pictures with the paints and chalks.

We have also had fun dressing up, exploring the dark den and making pictures on the computer. The children have had a go at writing their own potion recipes and then using their recipe to make the potion at the potion station. They have tried so hard and I am very proud of how enthusiastic they have been to write! Well done RS!
I'm looking forward to seeing the children in their Halloween fancy dress on Friday!

Autumn Walk

Today we decided to go for an autumn walk around the school grounds. We all put our coats and wellies on and off we went!
We saw lots of autumn things around the grounds and we enjoyed going up to the junior end. We walked over the bridge and through the tunnel.

PE Kits

Today we have sent your child's PE kit home with them to be washed during the holidays. Please check carefully that they only have their own clothes in their bag and that nothing is missing as they do tend to get a little mixed up after PE. If you notice something missing or have an extra piece of clothing please can it be returned to the right child's parents. Thank you for your help.

Bread experiment

Our bread has definitely changed over the last week! Take a look.

The slice that was touched with clean hands has got much less mould on it than the other two slices. The children think that germs must make the bread go mouldy quicker. Perhaps there were some germs on the bag that we used to put the first slice in the food bag. The slice that was passed around the children's dirty hands has got yellow, green and black mould on it! The children all agree that it is very important to keep our hands clean.

Harvest

Thank you everybody for your generous donations for our Harvest Festival today. We are overwhelmed by your kindness. The food will be donated to two local charities who will benefit from the food.

The children enjoyed performing two songs that we have been learning to years one and two in assembly and we were able to watch their performances too.
